Neighbors in Need serves all people by providing basic support services, encouragement, and unconditional acceptance within a safe, caring environment. This program extends God’s love through neighborly compassion and respect to anyone facing life’s challenges, while inspiring all to continue in our shared quest for wholeness.
Our vision is a healthy, compassionate, collaborative, and whole community of transformed lives in which hope defines us all, hope is spoken by all, and hope is lived by all.
Three distinct ministries share this common vision—
Neighbors in Need Saturday Morning
To give our clients a safe place for a hot meal, some needed clothing and bag of groceries as a band-aid to get through the weekend. Guests gather in an “open house” format, on Saturday mornings from 8:30 to 10:30 for a breakfast provided by rotating teams of volunteers, conversation. Modest assistance in the form of a small bag of groceries, toiletries, and used clothing are available.
Neighborhood Youth Alliance
The Neighborhood Youth Alliance (NYA) program provides weekly support to homeless and underprivileged children to stay and succeed in school in the Edmonds School District. NYA is held in conjunction with Neighbors in Need, Trinity’s Saturday morning outreach program to people in need in the Edmonds-Lynnwood area. Many of our kids are well behind their peers scholastically and NYA volunteers partners with parents and caregivers to help bridge between home and school support in literacy and math.
Emergency Cold Weather Shelter
We are a coalition of caring people in South Snohomish County coming together to provide a warm, caring, safe place for homeless individuals to stay on cold winter nights.
